What Makes Curodont™ Different?

Curodont™ Repair Fluoride Plus is a professionally applied treatment for early, non-cavitated decay. This means the affected area has lost minerals but has not developed an open hole. Its peptide-based technology supports mineral formation within the lesion, using calcium and phosphate available in saliva.

Instead of rebuilding a missing portion of the tooth with filling material, the goal is to strengthen a weakened area before further damage occurs.

Could Your Tooth Be Treated Without Drilling?

Your dentist will examine the tooth and review X-rays when needed. The condition of the surface, extent of decay, and your cavity risk all help determine whether Curodont™ is appropriate.

  • Early decay: An eligible lesion with an intact surface may benefit from a non-invasive approach.
  • Certain white spots: Areas caused by mineral loss may qualify, including some around orthodontic brackets.
  • Different tooth surfaces: Suitable lesions may occur between teeth, on chewing surfaces, or on smooth surfaces.

Your Visit, From Evaluation to Follow-Up

  1. Understand the finding. We explain where the lesion is and why a particular treatment is recommended.
  2. Prepare and treat the area. The tooth is cleaned and prepared, then Curodont™ is applied to the eligible lesion.
  3. Protect the tooth at home. Follow your dentist’s aftercare directions and continue your recommended brushing and interdental cleaning routine.
  4. Review progress. Follow-up examinations, with X-rays when indicated, help your dentist assess the treated area over time.

What does Curodont™ do for an early cavity?
It supports mineral repair within a qualifying area of early decay. The aim is to strengthen the affected tooth structure before an open cavity develops.
How will I know if my tooth is suitable?
Your Mint Dental Loft dentist will assess the tooth's surface, the extent of the lesion, and your cavity risk. X-rays may help evaluate areas that are difficult to see directly.
Will I need a shot or drilling?
The Curodont™ application does not require drilling and typically does not require a numbing injection. Any other dental work planned for the same visit will be discussed separately.
Can it repair a tooth that already has a hole?
Curodont™ is intended for eligible non-cavitated lesions. It does not rebuild missing tooth structure or replace a filling when a tooth needs restoration.
Does treatment take a full appointment?
The application itself is brief. Your overall visit will depend on the examination, preparation, number of areas being treated, and any additional care you need.
Will white spots disappear completely?
Appearance may improve in some decay-related white spot lesions, but complete disappearance is not guaranteed. White spots have different causes, so your dentist will first determine what is responsible.
Is this an option for my child?
Children with suitable early lesions may be candidates. Your dentist will consider your child's age, the affected tooth, and the product's directions before recommending treatment.
How soon will we know whether it has helped?
Mineral repair takes time. Your dentist will recommend follow-up visits to assess the lesion; the timelines shown in clinical examples do not predict your individual response.
Do I still need my usual preventive care?
Yes. Continue brushing with fluoride toothpaste as recommended, cleaning between teeth, and attending checkups. Curodont™ does not remove the need to manage the factors that contribute to decay.
What happens if the treated area continues to worsen?
Your dentist will reassess the tooth and discuss the next step. If decay progresses or the surface breaks down, a filling or another treatment may be needed.
